Giannis Antetokoumpo intentional miss bad beat

One of the worst betting beats of the NBA season occurred at the end of Sunday’s matchup between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Washington Wizards, which was all thanks to Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo wanting a triple-double.

The Bucks had solidified a 116-111 win over the Wizards, dribbling the clock out with few seconds remaining. However, Antetokounmpo was just one rebound away from recording a triple-double, which he was obviously aware of.

He intentionally missed a shot off the backboard and grabbed his own rebound to get the triple-double right before the final buzzer.

While that might not be an issue for most people, this had a drastic effect on those who bet on his rebound prop in the game.

Giannis’ rebound prop heading into the game was 9.5, meaning that those who bet over would need him to get 10 rebounds. He did just that, but in an incredibly frustrating way for those who bet the under.

While he probably didn’t know what the betting market was for his rebounds in the game, many are in shock that Giannis would do this just to get a triple-double.

Those who bet on Giannis to get over on his rebounds are certainly thanking their lucky stars. However, those who lost on this certainly have a gripe for this being one of the worst bad beats in NBA history.
