Giannis Antetokounmpo just gets better by the day. On Tuesday night, the Milwaukee Bucks star just dropped a new career-high in points.

Antetokounmpo went “Double Nickel” on the Washington Wizards. The two-time NBA MVP scored a new career-high 55 points in the Bucks‘ 123-113 win at Fiserv Forum.

Giannis hadn’t scored more than 45 points this season entering the night. Prior to that, he hit 50 points three separate times in his career. The previous high was set on March 17, 2019, when Antetokounmpo scored 52 against the Philadelphia 76ers.

But he came just an inch away from making even more history. The Bucks’ single-game record for points was 57. Milwaukee legend Michael Redd set the mark back in November 2006.

Giannis’ performance on Tuesday night startled and wowed the NBA world.

WorldWideWob pointed out that this has been a prodigious week in the Association.

Drew Hamm tweeted, “Personally? I don’t think it’s fair that Giannis seems to get considerably better every year he plays.” Well yes, fair. It is pretty absurd.

Bucks writer Ti Windisch tweeted, “Giannis decided dropping 40 for the third straight game wasn’t enough so he made it a career-high 55… Repping the Milwaukee on his jersey made it all the better, a loud and clear signal that he’s glad to be in the city. Legendary legendary stuff.”

Justin Wills pointed out a fun fact: “Giannis warned Michael Redd that he would break his single game Bucks scoring record. He almost did tonight.”
