Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo — a virtual lock to win his second consecutive NBA MVP award — surely has a suspension coming after a very ugly incident in Tuesday night’s game against the Washington Wizards.
In the second quarter, Antetokounmpo was unhappy about an offensive foul call, with Washington’s Moe Wagner drawing the charge. Antetokounmpo and Wagner exchanged words, and Antetokounmpo proceeded to viciously headbutt Wagner.

That’s definitely not okay. Antetokounmpo was ejected, and will likely be suspended for multiple games.
The 25-year-old has averaged 29.8 points, 13.7 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game this season.
The Bucks have the NBA’s best record at 56-16, and were able to still beat the Wizards 126-113 despite Antetokounmpo’s early exit.
UPDATE: Giannis Antetokounmpo has been suspended for Milwaukee’s final seeding game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
The NBA is suspending Milwaukee star Giannis Antetokounmpo for the Bucks’ final seeding game on Thursday for head bump on Wizards’ Mo Wagner, source tells ESPN.

And that’s excellent news for the Grizzlies in a crucial game.
Milwaukee is playing Memphis, in a game Memphis has to win to qualify for the play-in tournament on Saturday. If Memphis wins, it gets in. Will be ninth seed if Portland wins; eighth seed if Portland loses. https://t.co/mNlLgnZ2rR

It’s also great news for the Bucks and Antetokounmpo that the suspension isn’t longer; perhaps it would’ve been a suspension for multiple games if it didn’t extend into the playoffs. The NBA surely doesn’t want its — arguably — best player out for playoff games.
