Anthony Edwards is single-handly carrying the Minnesota Timberwolves past the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the Western Conference playoffs, averaging 35 points per game in Minnesota’s two wins.
He has put on Jordan and Kobe-like performances so far, which has caught the attention of several people including sports commentator Gus Johnson, who thinks the comparison to Michael Jordan is spot on.
“I love the Jordan comparisons because Jordan is just a handsome, regal almost mythical-looking player with an incredible kind of explosion & just a killer mentality”
What does Gus Johnson think about all the Anthony Edwards-Michael Jordan comparisons?

And while it may be flattering to be compared to the greatest NBA players of all time, Edwards wants all that talk to stop.
“I want it to stop,” the 22-year-old Edwards told FOX Sports. “He’s the greatest of all time. I can’t be compared to him.”
Hall-of-Famer Kevin Garnett, who spent 14 seasons with the Timberwolves, had his own glowing praise for the young star: “He’s like a young ’84 Jordan.” Patrick Beverley added: “I told him, ‘Man, you’ve got a chance, brother, to be Michael Jordan.” Draymond Green chimed saying on his podcast: “I think Anthony Edwards is poised to be that next guy.”
If Edwards keeps playing like he does, the comparisons won’t stop so he might as well get used to it.
