If we do a post on a missed dunk, you know it must be an incredible missed dunk.

And that was certainly the case on Thursday night in the NBA Summer League, when the Dallas Mavericks’ Dennis Smith Jr.  — the ninth overall pick in last month’s NBA Draft — showed off ridiculous hops to nearly throw down one of the best dunks you will ever see.

Yes, he missed it, but who cares; this is insane:

Hopefully we see 6’2″ point guard in next year’s dunk contest.

The funny thing is that Scott actually went off for 25 points in this game  (which the Mavs won 83-76), but it was a missed dunk that ended up being his top highlight.
