Isaiah Jackson

Indiana Pacers forward Isaiah Jackson had a dunk for the ages Thursday night.

In the closing seconds of the third quarter against the Los Angeles Lakers, Pacers guard Chris Duarte fired up a three-point attempt that bounded off the front of the rim.

The 6-9 Jackson, moving down the lane, high-pointed the basketball and carried it toward the rim, throwing it in the basket from more than foot away.

NBA fans were wowed by Jackson’s literal throw down.

FS1’s Skip Bayless tweeted, “If you missed it, you gotta see this putback shot the Pacers’ Isaiah Jackson vs Lakers. It’s not really a dunk. It’s literally a throw-down. He fires it through the hoop from a couple of feet away.”

“ISAIAH JACKSON JUST PUT THOMAS BRYANT ON A T-SHIRT,” tweeted a fan, pointing out the closest Lakers defender (who frankly, never had a chance to defend this dunk).

The dunk had to feel especially sweet for Jackson, who was drafted No. 22 overall by the Lakers in the 2021 NBA Draft but was traded to the Pacers before playing a game. He’s averaging 6.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per game this season for the Pacers.

The Pacers went on to lose, 112-111. Jackson ended up with four points — two of which he’ll never forget.
