It seemed as though the Golden State Warriors would take a 10-point halftime lead in Game 3 against the Memphis Grizzlies. Ja Morant had other ideas.

Morant took an inbounds pass in the backcourt with 2.1 seconds left in the half. He dribbled forward to just short of halfcourt, then took his shot. It found the hoop.

For years, these are the kinds of shots that Golden State star Steph Curry has made to break the backs of his opponents. Several NBA fans on Twitter were quick to note that this time, Curry was on the other side of it.

But the Curry connection wasn’t the only thing NBA fans took note of. Regardless of the opponent, Morant has made several highlight-reel plays in what’s already been a memorable postseason for him. NBA fans were quick to marvel at the latest.

While the Grizzlies trailed the Warriors by seven points at halftime, Morant’s first half was strong. He finished the first two quarters with 17 points, shooting 4-for-6 on three pointers.

Regardless of how Game 3 and the rest of the series against Golden State plays out, it’s clear that Morant will be a force to be reckoned with for a long time. He’s capable of doing something special every time he takes the floor.
