Ja Morant just can’t seem to help himself. The Memphis Grizzlies star, who was already facing some horrific allegations, including being accused of punching and flashing a gun at a 17-year-old and threatening a mall security guard in two separate incidents, is under fire again.
Morant went viral in the early hours of Saturday morning as an Instagram Live video surfaced in which he appears to be displaying a gun at a nightclub.

The NBA put out a short statement on this on Saturday afternoon:
Statement from NBA spokesman Mike Bass: “We are aware of a social media post involving Ja Morant and are investigating.”

This is the second time in a week that the controversial NBA star has been in the news for the use of guns. On Wednesday, The Washington Post’s Molly Hensley-Clancy obtained police records that show Morant was accused of punching the 17-year-old teenager mentioned above, “12-13” times during a pickup game at the NBA star’s house last summer. Following the incident, the teenager told Shelby County Sheriff’s Office detectives that Morant went into his house after hitting him and “re-emerged with a gun visible in the waistband of his pants and his hand on the weapon.”
Clearly, Morant has an affinity for guns. We’ll have to see if the NBA takes action now that there seems to be one off-the-court issue after another for Morant.
