Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant is one of the most dominant dunkers in the world. He showcased his ability earlier this year in the playoffs when he posterized Minnesota Timberwolves guard Malik Beasley.

But Morant, who is entering his fourth season, would gladly add another name to his long list of victims: Jesus of Nazareth.

The Memphis star admitted as much while appearing on The Pivot Podcast.

“Are you ever considered with who’s under that rim?” podcast host Channing Crowder asked Morant.

“Nah,” Morant replied.

“You don’t even think about it? You’re just rising up?”

“Straight like that,” Morant said.

“If Jesus is down there, he can go and get it?”

“I’ll apologize and pray after,” Morant said through laughter.

Jesus was famously short in stature as historians list him as 5’5″ in height. He would need something akin to turning water into wine to be able to stop Morant if he came thundering down the lane for the dunk. Morant, for his part, does not seem concerned about how posterizing his Lord and Savior would look upon his day of judgment.

Morant’s Grizzlies are next in action on Oct. 4th, when they tip off preseason play against the Miami Heat in Memphis.
