NBA megastar Kevin Durant has been on the market for over a month after he requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets and now it appears that the Boston Celtics have emerged as a serious possible landing spot for the former MVP with Jaylen Brown possibly heading to Brooklyn in return.

The Athletic reported on Monday that the Celtics offered Brown, guard Derrick White and a draft pick to the Nets for Durant. Brooklyn declined the trade, instead asking the Celtics to include Brown, reigning Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart, draft picks and possibly one more rotation player in the package, according to The Athletic. In either scenario, Boston would be dealing Brown to the Nets.

It’s safe to say that Brown saw the rumors begin to circulate as the former All-Star posted a Tweet that simply “Smh” on his Twitter account on Monday morning.

There’s a good chance this trade never actually happens, with ESPN’s Brian Windhorst revealing that the reported trade offer is likely weeks old and that he does not believe the Nets are in active talks with any team right now.

Regardless, the report appears to have affected Brown at least in some capacity, and it could potentially impact Boston’s team chemistry as the team moves forward.
