The Utah Jazz has been one of the best teams in the Western Conference for most of this season, but they have just been dealt a significant blow that could impact the rest of their year.

NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski has reported that Utah Jazz forward Joe Ingles has torn his ACL, and will miss the rest of the season. Ingles suffered the injury in Sunday night’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on this play.

You can clearly see where the injury occurred from this video and it was serious right from the moment it happened.

Ingles has only averaged 7.2 points per game this year on 25 minutes per game, but he brings a powerful presence to the Jazz locker room. Unfortunately, he’ll be unable to help them on the court for the rest of this season.

Veteran point guard Mike Conley spoke on the injury after last night’s game, having this to say about the presence that Ingles has on the team.

“That took a lot out of guys seeing him with tears in his eyes,” said Conley. “We know how much the game and we mean to him, and it tough.”

Here are some reactions around the NBA world on the big loss of Ingles for the Jazz.

The Jazz has struggled as of late, losing five in a row and eight out of their last ten games. An injury to a key veteran like Ingles can only have a negative effect going forward.
