The John Wall era in Houston is over. The John Wall era in Los Angeles has begun.
The star guard officially agreed to a two-year, $13.2 million deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, which was officially announced by Klutch Sports Group on Friday.

Wall had been due $47.4 million after opting into his player option for the final year of his previous deal with the Houston Rockets but instead agreed to a $6.5 million buyout with the team on Monday. It was pretty clear from the get-go that the oft-injured superstar wanted to play for the Clippers, so this ended up being a formality.
Even though my time in Houston was brief, I just wanna thank the Fertitta family, the entire @HoustonRockets front office, my teammates & most of all the fans for embracing me while I was there.

Wall averaged 20.6 points and 6.9 assists in 40 games for the Rockets two years ago but missed the last season and a half after heel surgery and a torn Achilles. If he can get healthy and return to the court, he provides a solid playmaker compliment to Kawhi Leonard, who will also be returning after missing last season with a torn ACL.
It’s going to be a fascinating season for the Clippers depending on how it all plays out. For now, the news that Wall was heading to LA garnered some interesting reactions from the NBA world.
Ty Lue now has former All-Star John Wall at point along with Reggie Jackson. It will be interesting to see how Lue uses his rotations. Wall will look to push when he can with a halfcourt-oriented team and has to play more off ball but Lue has more at point to operate with now https://t.co/7ZlmMUutXO

Should be really solid for backup minutes. Deepest roster in the league for Ty Lue to balance. https://t.co/OsIzOeU4YT

If it works out, Wall gives LAC a serious upgrade in playmaking, a bigger, more athletic POA defender, and someone with some serious downhill juice, which should bold well with the amount of shooting LAC still has. https://t.co/qMsHvV71Ir
