Former San Antonio Spurs player Josh Primo is reportedly claiming he inadvertently exposed his privates to a team employee in a “wardrobe malfunction” situation.

The Spurs shockingly released their 2021 first-round draft pick last week, with Primo saying his release was the result of “previous trauma” and he needed to focus on mental health treatment. However, news later emerged that the 19-year-old guard had allegedly exposed himself in multiple instances to women, including a team employee.

TMZ Sports reported Wednesday that sources close to Primo say he’s “shocked” the team employee, a performance therapist, made the allegations. According to TMZ, the sources “are insistent he never intentionally exposed his privates … and if anything was visible at any time, it was strictly a wardrobe malfunction resulting from laying down on a couch in basketball shorts.”

They add that many in Primo’s circle “feel he’s a young guy who’s being taken advantage of by a medical professional twice his age.”

The woman has been identified by her attorney as Dr. Hillary Cauthen. TMZ reported Primo has received a demand letter, but no lawsuit has been filed. Cauthen’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, has represented several women in lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct by Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Primo averaged 7 points and 4.5 assists in 23 minutes per game this season.
