Kevin Durant Drake

Wednesday’s nationally televised matchup between the Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors already had plenty of hype surrounding it given the team’s success this past season. To add to the excitement, the Raptors decided to honor their most famous fan — Drake.

The Warriors went on to win 127-121 and picked up a nice road win. However, it appears that the off-the-court action is what will have people talking for days to come.

As has already been reported, Drake (who’s officially the Raptors’ “global ambassador”) sent Twitter into a frenzy after he showed up to the game wearing a shirt expressing his love for ESPN’s Doris Burke.

Following the game, Drake’s presence got even more interesting. Warriors’ forward Kevin Durant was doing a postgame interview when he bumped into the rap star. The two exchanged an awkward and scary-looking staring contest. Then, Durant went on to give his thoughts on the Raptors honoring Drake.

This is quite something considering Drake’s pre-game comments about how he’s friends with the Warriors’ stars, including Durant:

Who would’ve thought a night honoring a Canadian rapper would’ve gotten so much publicity? All I know is that things got super weird between Durant and Drake during that interview.

The Bay Area newbie might want to be on the lookout for a slam track by Drake going after the Golden State forward. Based on past incidents, that does seem to be how Drake handles his conflicts these days.
