Kevin Durant is one of the greatest players in the history of the NBA. During Monday night’s game between Durant’s Brooklyn Nets and the Cleveland Cavaliers, he achieved another milestone in his storied NBA career.

Durant entered the game with 26,484 career points — only 12 points shy of San Antonio Spurs legend, Tim Duncan, who scored 26,496 in his illustrious career and was 15th on the all-time scoring list. Now, the No. 15 spot belongs to Durant.

Durant had already scored 12 points to tie Duncan. In the second quarter, he took a pass from Edmond Sumner and in typical Durant style, shot right over Cleveland’s Lamar Stevens. The shot was good, giving Durant his 13th and 14th points of the game and 26,498 for his career, good enough for 15th in NBA history.

Next on the list for Kevin Durant is Dominique Wilkins, who is at 26,668 points. Based on his scoring average this season, Durant should get to that milestone sometime in his next 5-7 games.

If Durant remains healthy and stays at his current pace for the remainder of the season, he should pass Wilkins, Oscar Robertson (26,710), Hakeem Olajuwon (26,496), Elvin Hayes (27,313) and Moses Malone (27,409) on the all-time list, moving into the top-10 by season’s end.
