NBA megastar Kevin Durant caused quite a stir over the offseason when he requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets and set a few ultimatums before eventually agreeing to return to the team this season. But despite Durant’s commitment to the team, it looks like he could still be on his way out of Brooklyn, after all.

According to NBA insider Zach Lowe of ESPN, Durant may be on the trading block once again, saying on his podcast that “the whole league is ready now to reengage on Durant.”

“The next domino … is Durant,” Lowe said on his podcast, according to Fox News. “The vultures are gonna circle on Durant. Those vultures expect the Nets to put on a strong face for a while, to not rush it, to posture probably, honestly, [say] that, ‘No, he has four years left on his contract. We control his situation, we’re trying to win, we don’t want to do this …’

“I don’t think this is gonna be fast. I don’t know that it will really ever happen, but I know that the whole league is ready now to reengage on Durant.”

Lowe’s prediction comes following several controversial headlines surrounding the Nets. Star guard Kyrie Irving recently posted links to an antisemitic film prompting an apology and plenty of backlash. The team also fired head coach Steve Nash and are reportedly considering replacing him with Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka, who is currently suspended due to an improper relationship with a female staffer.

Never a dull day for the Nets.
