As the Los Angeles Lakers continue their coaching search, one name keeps coming up and that is ESPN commentator and former Duke Blue Devils standout JJ Redick.
Redick, who doesn’t have any coaching experience, apparently is very high on the Lakers list but one person who doesn’t think he should even be mentioned as a candidate and that is Keyshawn Johnson
Johnson said on “Undisputed” that he has no confidence in the Lakers if they hire Redick even if he and LeBron James has a podcast together and that James apparently likes Redick.
“I don’t want to be a Debbie Downer or a hater or anything but look at history,” he said. The little bit that I do know in terms of professional sports history and first-time head coaches and things of that nature, and there are some better candidates potentially are out there and I hear there is not a chance that they (the Lakers) are going to hire him.”
.@keyshawn isn’t confident in his Lakers if they hire JJ Redick as HC 😳

“I’m afraid of a first-time head coach with no coaching experience,” he concluded.
Devin Ham was a first-year head coach with the team and was fairly successful during his two years with the Lakers, but was fired because of the disappointing season they had this year, and Anthony Davis nor James were fans of his.
But from the sounds of it, the Lakers more than likely won’t get a veteran head coach but another high-ranking assistant, so despite what Keyshawn Johnson says, Redick may still be in the running.
