Klay Thompson and Dillon Brooks went at it Saturday night in a war of words and gestures, with Thompson saving his best barb for after the game.

The Memphis Grizzlies knocked off the Golden State Warriors, 133-119, in Memphis. And once again, Brooks made headlines. The last time the two teams played (March 10), Brooks traded words and stares with Draymond Green.

This time, Thompson took on Brooks. Late in the game, with the Grizzlies guard already on the bench resting, he yelled “You suck” at the Warriors. Thompson responded by looking in Brooks direction and holding up four fingers, for, yes, the Warriors’ NBA championship count in recent years.

Thompson saved his best zinger for after the game.

“I don’t care about Dillon Brooks,” Thompson told the Memphis Commercial Appeal. “When he retires, I don’t think anyone will ever talk about Dillon Brooks ever again. I promise you. It’s sweet right now, but wait 10 years.”

That’s next-level trash-talking there, totally dismissing a player’s legacy. After the game, Brooks shrugged off Thompson’s counting exhibition.

“He’s got four rings. That’s all he was saying. It’s motivation to us,” Brooks said (via the Commercial Appeal). “We want a ring as well. Being able to go through the process of steps that we did last year, we keep going and learning from it all. It’s friendly trash talk, but I just hold a lot of real estate over there in San Francisco.”
