Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns had an extremely disappointing season, especially considering the talent at the top of the Suns’ roster. Still, the Suns failed to even qualify for the NBA’s Play-In tournament.
Now, the Suns and Kevin Durant are both looking for trade partners to send the former-MVP elsewhere ahead of next season. Unfortunately for Durant, it looks like his top choice isn’t reciprocating any interest.
“KD wanted the New York Knicks. The Knicks have no interest in bringing him in,” reported ESPN’s Marc J. Spears on Monday.
Fans reacted to the shocking news that the Knicks are uninterested in Durant’s services on social media.
“He could have been a Knick. Instead he chose to follow Kyrie and go to the Nets. We’re not giving up pieces and picks to get a 37 year old KD. If he really wants to be a Knick, come through as a free agent after this season,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Had a chance to turn the franchise around and decided to be a pussy and play in low pressure Bk and then demand out of there once it went bad Knicks don’t need to save him from that disaster in PHX Suns only need to get the best deal. They owe nothing to KD,” someone else added.
“Pathetic, why because we do not want to trade several in a their prime players for an old player, with an injury history who fans don’t want. Yeah, sound silly!” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see where Durant lands.
