The New York Post reports that Dallas Mavericks star forward Kristaps Porzingis is under investigation by the New York Police Department for allegedly raping a woman just hours after he suffered a torn ACL while a member of the New York Knicks on Feb. 7, 2018.

The report says that Porzingis allegedly invited the woman back to his Manhattan penthouse, and “held her down and raped her.” She reportedly told police that she waited over a year to speak to police because “Porzingis allegedly promised to give her money to keep her quiet.”

The woman told cops she waited over a year to talk to police because Porzingis allegedly promised to give her money to keep her quiet, the sources said.

She told cops Porzingis promised to give her $68,000 to pay for her brother’s college tuition, but then reneged, the sources said.

The report adds that the investigators consider the woman “credible” and “believable.”
