Throughout the season, there were plenty of rumors circulating that LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers were interested in acquiring Kyrie Irving. It sounds like Irving would indeed be interested in reuniting with James, but he wants James to come to him.

According to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic, Kyrie Irving has asked LeBron James if the Los Angeles Lakers star would be interested in joining the Dallas Mavericks.

“Sources: Kyrie Irving has reached out to Lakers star LeBron James in attempts to see if James would come to Dallas. Irving is a free agent this offseason,” Charania wrote.

Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report shared a similar report, suggesting that Irving has been asking the Mavericks to consider trading for James to form a “Big 3” with Irving, James and Luka Doncic.

Obviously, it’s massive and potentially blockbuster news, and the sports world was buzzing about it on social media as a result.

While Irving is a free agent and has not yet committed to the Mavericks, James is currently under contract with the Los Angeles Lakers and would need to be traded if he is going to join Irving with the Mavericks. However, the first step would be determining if this is something James would even want – and it seems that Irving is trying to find the answer to that question.
