Kyrie Irving can be…cryptic at times on social media.

His latest tweet came almost an hour after Shams Charania reported that Irving may decline his player option and go to free agency after conversations between he and the Brooklyn Nets have gone “stagnant.”

Irving’s tweet, seemingly in response to those reports due to the timing, was a GIF of Brother Mouzone from The Wire returning to Baltimore.

Kyrie’s replies were full of people assuming he was referring to the report but also wondering what his tweet meant.

Even if you know the reference, it doesn’t exactly tell us much. Does this mean Irving is going back to the Cavs? Is he reuniting with LeBron? Does this have nothing to do with basketball and Kyrie is simply watching The Wire over the offseason? It’s a great show so I don’t blame him for watching. All options are on the table and I have a feeling this story will go through the summer.
