The 2021-2022 season is officially underway and it’s off to a rough start for the Los Angeles Lakers. Following their season-opening loss to the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday, LeBron James and the Lakers were hoping to bounce back against the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.

That plan didn’t look too good in the first half. Down 57-44, frustration must have been mounting between some of the players because it apparently boiled over on the bench. Cameras captured Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard nearly coming to blows right at the half.

It’s unclear what exactly caused the friction but it’s not a great look for the team’s young superstar and former superstar to be in each other’s faces like that, especially so soon into the season. Davis only had four points in the half and Howard has yet to score in the game.

While we wait to find out what might have caused the kerfuffle, social media certainly had plenty of ideas.

We’ll probably hear more about things after the game and, presumably, get a comment from LeBron at some point.
