Many people have referred to the play of the Los Angeles Lakers over the last two seasons as comedy. Now, a literal comedian will be very connected to the franchise’s owner.

According to TMZ, Lakers owner Jeanie Buss recently got engaged to comedian Jay Mohr.

The two started “quietly” dating back in 2017, per TMZ, and were known to attend Lakers games together. While the two never made a major public announcement about their relationship, they would also drop some clues from time to time, including a Facebook post that Buss wrote in September 2021.

It’s unclear what role, if any, Mohr might have in the family business. But he does have a sports background. The former SNL cast member and Last Comic Standing host has been a frequent guest and guest-host on The Jim Rome Show and eventually replaced Rome on Fox Sports Radio as the host of Jay Mohr Sports, which he did from 2013 to 2017.
