King James appears to have come out of the gate swinging Saturday morning. LeBron James and his Los Angeles Lakers closed the Western Conference First Round series against the Memphis Grizzlies Friday night. James and the Lakers won in six games, and in a subplot, the King won a “battle” with Grizzlies wing Dillon Brooks.

Brooks talked a lot of trash going into the series but ultimately didn’t live up to much of it. The former Oregon Duck made things worse when he refused to talk to the media after multiple Grizzlies losses. As if it could be worse, now LeBron is on his head.

James took to Twitter on Saturday afternoon and let his voice be heard. LeBron quoted Jay-Z and his hit “Trouble” from the Kingdom Come album. “It’s apparent you’re staring at a legend” was one line the NBA legend recited, leading many to believe he was taking a shot at Brooks.

“LeBron have every right in the world to feel this way quoting Hov bars lol,” one user said.

“Obviously Dillon is nowhere close to LJ’s level but all the NBA old heads who ask what happened to real beef and players not liking each other — damn, here y’all go,” another user said.

“Respect the King!” one fan tweeted.

And finally, “Put that big mouth fool in his place, salute,” one fan said.

When you come at the King, you best not miss. Dillon Brooks, unfortunately, learned that the hard way. LeBron James, meanwhile, will keep pursuing his next championship.
