Tonight’s Cavaliers-Wizards is the leading candidate for NBA regular season game of the year with one highlight play after another. Cue LeBron James and one of his career high 17 assists.

If that wasn’t good enough, the fourth quarter featured some incredible shotmaking. Both teams traded clutch three pointer after three pointer in the closing minutes. When it came to the final seconds, the Wizards led the Cavaliers by a solitary point. That’s when LeBron James, the greatest player of his generation, flew down the court for what would surely be the game-winning layup.

Sure, he miiiiight have traveled, but a LeBron game-winner was a fitting way to end this epic… wait… HE MISSED?!?!?!  FROM POINT BLANK RANGE?!?!?

How did that happen? Was he trying to copy Steph Curry missing a layup of his own to fall short against Sacramento this weekend?

It’s unfortunate because James played such a great game and you just know that this is going to give haters like Skip Bayless and Charles Barkley more ammo to come down on LeBron. After LeBron would miss a desperation heave to try to tie at the final horn, you could just see the tweets pouring in and… wait… HE BANKED IN A FADEAWAY THREE AT THE BUZZER TO FORCE OVERTIME?!?!?!

Wow. Wow. Wow.

What a game. What a finish to regulation. Unfortunately for James and the Cavs, he fouled out in overtime where the two teams might just decide to keep playing until the All-Star Break for our entertainment.
