The Los Angeles Lakers are hopeful to make a deep postseason run in what may very well be the last season for superstar forward LeBron James. They have surrounded James with elite talent such as Austin Reaves and Luka Doncic. James isn’t the same player that he was in his prime, but he’s still more than capable of being a contributor to a championship-caliber team.

It’s hard to imagine that he’s still playing at such a high level, considering he has spent 23 seasons in the NBA. Now, the NBA is making a special accommodation for James, and allowing him to add a special patch to his jersey for the remainder of this season that no other players will wear.

“BREAKING: LeBron James will wear a special-edition patch on his jersey to celebrate his record-setting 23rd NBA season, beginning tonight in Sacramento, the city where he made his NBA debut in 2003. The patch, which LeBron will wear for the remainder of the season, features a silhouette of his pregame chalk toss and three colored stripes representing the franchises he’s played for in Cleveland, Miami, and L.A,” reported Yahoo Sports on Monday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“No matter how much self promoting or the NBA tryna make it so… LeFlop will NEVER BE THE GOAT!” one person wrote on Twitter.

“Bron gonna be the NBA logo when he retires and old heads gonna have a stroke,” one fan added.

“lmao dude is gonna wear a geriatric patch… what a narcissistic loser,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see if James can do the impossible and get his fifth ring in his year 23 season.
