Incoming NBA rookie Lonzo Ball may have his own signature shoe, but for now he has to resort to lacing up some Adidas basketball shoes. That’s because his $495 signature shoe from the Big Baller Brand isn’t ready yet.

Ball had to wear a pair of Adidas shoes during a private workout with the Los Angeles Lakers, the NBA franchise who may draft the UCLA Bruin with the second overall pick. The ZO2, which LaVar Ball claims has sold at least 495 pairs, won’t be available to the masses until November, and it’s apparently still too early for Ball to put a pair of his own shoes on as he prepares for the draft.

So, what was Ball wearing in the meantime? According to ESPN reporter Jovan Buha, Ball was wearing a pair of James Harden’s signature shoe, the Adidas Harden Vol. 1. That’s the same shoe he was regularly wearing with UCLA last season.

For Adidas, that’s a nice little PR win for the moment as one of the top draft prospects is wearing their name on the feet instead of Nike or Under Armour. And considering all three major companies have already backed away from dealing with LaVar Ball, Adidas gets one more reason to smile for now.

Ball still intends to wear his own shoe once he gets to the NBA and when the shoe is available.
