Lonzo Ball

Throughout 2022 and 2023, Chicago Bulls young point guard Lonzo Ball has dealt with knee pain and discomfort in his left knee, even despite two surgeries to help repair it. And it appears that pain is going to keep him sidelined for the rest of this NBA season.

Lonzo Ball hasn’t played since Jan. 14, 2022 – over a year, at this point – and according to a report from NBA insider Sham Charania of The Athletic, he won’t be returning to the court at any point this season.

“The Chicago Bulls are expected to shut down guard Lonzo Ball for the remainder of the season, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Pain and discomfort have persisted in Ball’s left knee following two surgeries at the beginning and end of 2022,” Charania said in a tweet on Tuesday.

It’s horrible news for the 25-year-old star, and the NBA world had plenty to say about it on Twitter with many expressing their concern for his health.

“Always had a feeling this would end up happening,” Brenden Stiles of HawkeyeDrive.com said.

“This is such a bummer, man. Lonzo is capable of becoming one of the most impactful guards in the league. Hope he gets right,” Anthony Irwin said in a tweet.

“What a freakin’ bummer, man. Lonzo really is a special player who knows how to play winning basketball. I’m just hoping he can eventually get right and continue his career. You gotta feel for him,” Bleacher Nation Bulls said in a tweet.

“Lonzo made the Bulls click. But not sure we’ll ever see the same player again. And Bulls went from an exciting team to one in purgatory since Zo last played,” Law Murray of The Athletic said.

It’s safe to say everyone wishes Ball a speedy and full recovery.
