The Los Angeles Lakers shocked the world when they selected the son of superstar forward LeBron James, Bronny, with the 55th overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA draft. While Bronny struggled in the early part of his rookie year, he began to find his footing down the stretch.
Unfortunately for the young Laker, not everyone is completely sold that he belongs in the NBA. Now, one prominent figure in sports media feels like the point guard needs to buy in more to show the franchise his commitment.
“Dan Patrick criticizes Bronny James for not attending Luka Dončić’s press conference. “Bronny James should’ve been there. You’re the last guy on the roster, you should be there,” reported NBA Central on Monday.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“He didn’t mention that Austin Reaves wasn’t there either… I wonder why,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Since when do role players attend the press conference of the other players?” someoen else wanted to know.
“Standing up for his dad! He should’ve attended though. Need to support your teammates,” one person wrote.
It’ll be interesting to see if Bronny can carve out a spot in the Lakers’ regular rotation in his second season in the league.
