The Los Angeles Lakers are currently 11th in the Western Conference after a loss on Thursday to the Utah Jazz. The team has been struggling without stars Anthony Davis and Lebron James.

Davis has been out since February 16th with an ankle injury but plans to return to the lineup on Friday barring any setbacks. Meanwhile, James suffered a similar ankle injury on Sunday and has been out for the Lakers’ last two games.

It is also expected that LeBron will return for the team on Friday, but it seemed like he decided to have some fun with his fans on April Fool’s Day.

James posted this message on social media, telling his fans that he is out for the rest of the season.

It was a very short and simple message from LeBron, who typically has very long and detailed posts when he has a serious message to relay.

Many around the NBA world weren’t buying his post and clearly saw that it is an April Fool’s joke.

What isn’t a joke is that the Lakers are in real jeopardy of missing out on the NBA play-in tournament if they continue to struggle the way that they have.

If James and Davis come back on Friday, it will certainly be a huge boost for the Lakers, but they have been a huge disappointment this season considering the talent they have on their roster.

Friday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans, who are only two games ahead of the Lakers also competing for a play-in spot, will be crucial for the Lakers’ chances of any postseason run in 2022.
