The Texas Tech Raiders just landed a big-time transfer. Former Georgetown guard Mac McClung announced Wednesday on Twitter that he’ll transfer to Texas Tech.

The rising junior initially entered the 2020 NBA Draft, but withdrew from the draft process earlier this month and entered the transfer portal. He chose Texas Tech over Auburn, Arkansas, BYU, Memphis, USC, and Wake Forest.
McClung was named to the Big East All-Freshman team in 2018-19 after averaging 13.1 points for Georgetown. He followed that up with a sophomore season that led the Hoyas in scoring, with 15.7 points per game.

The 6’2″ guard became a viral sensation in high school due to his ridiculous leaping and dunking ability.
McClung is expected to request a waiver to play in the 2020-21 season. If that isn’t granted, he’ll have to sit out the upcoming season, but will still have two years of eligibility remaining.
