Manu Ginobli realizes how tough it will be for anybody, including his San Antonio Spurs, to defeat the Golden State Warriors.

On the heels of Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich calling the Warriors “unsolvable,” one of his most tenured players agrees. Writing a column for La Nacion, the topic of the Warriors, who handily defeated San Antonio’s 30 point loss to the Warriors back in late January, came up and Ginobli said the Spurs will do everything they can to beat them, admitting it’s not going to be easy. I know everyone is talking about how great Golden State is and we found out about it the hard way. People wonder what it would take to stop them and it really doesn’t seem possible. Obviously Curry can’t have a good night. But the rest of the team can’t have a good night either, like they had against us and in so many other games. I don’t know if there’s a way to beat them, but for now I don’t care. I would in May or June. Beating them now only counts as one win, nothing more. They are going through a great stretch, playing truly extraordinary basketball and showing tremendous confidence and team spirit. But we’ll try to figure out how to beat them only when it’s do-or-die time.

Ginobli points out regular season wins for elite teams don’t account for all that much, but he and the Spurs will have a few more chances for redemption as they face off against the Warriors three more times as the season winds down. It’s also likely a Western Conference Finals preview – a matchup which is going to be so damn entertaining.

The Spurs are a pretty great team themselves, with a 45-8 record, only four more losses than the Warriors. As unsolvable as the Warriors are, the Spurs might be the key to unlocking the answer to the equation.
