The Memphis Grizzlies have been a disaster this season, taking an 11-game losing streak — which included a coaching change, and a crappy GM explanation for the coaching change — into Monday night’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Well, Memphis finally got into the win column, with a 95-92 victory over Minnesota.

After the game, Grizzlies veteran center Marc Gasol (21 points in the win) was asked what’s changed to “get everybody involved” and see Memphis playing some better basketball (despite the results not showing until Monday night, of course).

Gasol offered a fairly detailed explanation about what the Grizzlies are doing to see improved play, before casually dropping an F-bomb on Fox Sports Southeast.

“Guys have taken more ownership of their mistakes and it’s starting to look more like us. Obviously, now we’ve got to put together more games, more wins, and guys need to get used to having a little more confidence with the ball in their hands, and get used to playing together. Overall, we won, so fuck it.”

The Grizzlies were actually a rock-solid 7-4 before the brutal 11-game losing streak started, and are still just 3.5 games back for the eighth seed in the Western Conference (or, the all-important “right to lose in under six games to the Warriors” playoff spot).

  1. Yo Matt Clapp, change the title, should be “11 game losing streak” not “winning streak”
