“The Process” has been cult NBA lingo ever since it was coined by former Philadelphia 76ers general manager Sam Hinkie. Hinkie’s idea—get as bad as possible to eventually get as good as possible—has taken on a life of its own, and it’s been celebrated by current 76er star Joel Embiid, among others.

The 76ers are likely to continue “The Process” by drafting Markelle Fultz No. 1 in this year’s NBA Draft, which will give the team potential future stars in Fultz, Embiid and Ben Simmons.

Fultz seems like he’ll be the perfect fit: he thought he invented the term “The Process.”

We look forward to the upcoming copyright infringement lawsuit that shuts down the 76ers’ 2018 playoff run.
