The Memphis Grizzlies are working hard to establish a strong basketball following in the city, but even this NBA franchise knows what gets Memphis fans really excited. Memphis is a wrestling town, and the Grizzlies are mixing in some high-flying wrestling moves during stoppages in play during Grizzlies home games.

During Game 3 of a first-round matchup with the San Antonio Spurs, Memphis mascot Grizz took on a black bear in a good old-fashioned TLC (tables, ladders and chairs) match, and the theatrics spared no expense. This looked like a page right out of the WWE attitude era with the Hardy Boyz, Dudley Boyz and Edge & Christian going all out. Grizz got the win after driving the bear through a table off the ladder.

If only a Jerry Lawler mascot showed up with the Money in the Bank briefcase. Somebody also needs to take this video and dub over commentary from Jim Ross. This slobber knocker deserves such treatment.

I now want to watch a full TLC match at the next WWE Pay-Per-View featuring tag teams of sports mascots. Maybe pair up two mascots from the same city for a tag team? I’ll put my money on the Philadelphia duo of the Phillie Phanatic and Swoop.
