The New Orleans Pelicans dominated the Los Angeles Lakers on the court this year, winning all three meetings between the two teams during the 2021-22 NBA season. Now they’re bullying them off the court with an absolutely savage Tweet.

On Tuesday, an apparent Lakers fan Tweeted at the Pelicans’ official Twitter account poking fun at the team’s Twitter banner photo showing Zion Williamson, CJ McCollum, Brandon Ingram, Naji Marshall and Jose Alvarado all sitting together at a recent NBA Summer League game.

The fan told the Pelicans to “take notes” after pointing out that New Orleans’ banner photo is “a selfie of their players” while the Lakers’ is of the teams’ championship banners.

The Pelicans held nothing back in their response, Tweeting “yes our players enjoy sitting next to each other rather than on opposite ends of the court.”

This, of course, is in reference to the apparent dysfunction within the Lakers organization after Lakers teammates LeBron James and Russell Westbrook had no interaction with each other during last Friday’s Summer League game in Las Vegas, sitting on opposite ends of the court.

While we can’t be certain about what’s going on behind the scenes with the Lakers and don’t know the exact dynamics of James and Westbrook’s relationship, we do know that the Pelicans’ Tweet was absolutely savage, and it had the NBA world reeling.
