The Golden State Warriors defeated the Memphis Grizzlies in a close game but the biggest storyline after Game 1 was the ejection of Warriors power forward Draymond Green. With a little over a minute left in the first half, Green was issued a flagrant 2 after fouling Brandon Clarke as he went up for a dunk.

Green maintained his innocence saying that his hand got caught in Clarke’s collar and pulled him down. Kerr echoed those sentiments to the referee crew but it was to no avail and Green was ejected.

While this foul seemed rather tame compared to Draymond’s past exploits, Green has a reputation for playing very physically or dirty depending on your opinion. A referee shouldn’t use past behavior to influence their calls but everyone knows it happens all the time and while he maybe didn’t deserve an ejection for this foul, Green wasn’t getting the benefit of the doubt.

Draymond reacted by skipping around the court and trolling Grizzlies fans as the refs reviewed the play.

Many people had plenty to say about this potentially game-changing decision with the majority of the tweets disagreeing with the call. Game 2 is going to take place Tuesday night.
