Mike D’Antoni is the kind of coach who has always found a team interested in him. Whether as an assistant or as a head coach in the United States or Europe, the 70-year-old D’Antoni has been gainfully employed since 1990.
Currently an assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets, D’Antoni is reportedly being sought by one team who’s looking for a new head coach. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Charlotte Hornets are looking at assistant coaches from multiple teams including D’Antoni.
ESPN Sources: The Charlotte Hornets are beginning to interview candidates for their head coaching job, including Golden State assistant Kenny Atkinson, Milwaukee assistant Darvin Ham, Dallas assistant Sean Sweeney and Mike D'Antoni.

As Woj notes, D’Antoni and Hornets GM Mitch Kupchak worked together when they were at the Lakers. So it would make sense that Kupchak would reach out to someone like D’Antoni if they have a good relationship.
Some people seem excited with the possibility of D’Antoni coaching LaMelo Ball but it remains to be seen if that becomes a reality.
