The NBA world was shocked when the Indiana Pacers got out to a 2-0 series lead against the Cleveland Cavaliers, who came into the season with the number one overall seed in the Eastern Conference.
However, in the first two games of the series, the Cavs were significantly hindered by various injuries to their core players. In Game 3, the Cavs were fully healthy and won Game 3 in convincing fashion.
Which is why jaws were dropped when the Pacers dominated a healthy Cavs unit in game 4, going into the half up 41 points before eventually winning the game 109-129 to go up 3-1 in the Series.
Still, the Pacers know they have more to accomplish and can’t afford to sit back and rest now.
“We haven’t done anything yet,” Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle said after the Game 4 win on Sunday night, according to ESPN.
“We’re going to keep approaching this like we have everything to prove,” Carlisle continued. “We know people don’t believe in us … the things about the scores and all that, it’s meaningless. This game is now history. So, we got to stay in the present moment as much as we can try to maintain an edge.”
“We just came out with good energy,” Indiana star Tyrese Haliburton said after the game. “I thought last game they set the tone from a physicality standpoint. That’s been a talking point from them all series. Today we came out, set the tone from the jump and really just rode that wave.”
