Paul George drains half-court heave after buzzer to win the game.

Sunday’s game between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Denver Nuggets featured an absolutely bonkers ending that featured the second waived-off half-court shot in the last two days.

It was an extremely competitive back-and-forth game throughout, but the fourth quarter was where things truly got wild.

The Nuggets trailed by one point with less than a minute remaining with possession of the ball. As Murray attempted to drive to the paint, he was stripped of the ball. The ball was poked away and went all the way across half-court. This forced Murray to hoist up a half-court heave, which nearly went in but just missed.

However, the long rebound was retrieved by Denver, and this led to an open three to take the lead from Michael Porter Jr.

The Clippers were able to tie the game back up on their following possession after Paul George was sent to the line. Denver then tried to potentially win the game at the buzzer.

The game-winner was missed by Bruce Brown and George retrieved the rebound. George then hoisted up a 3/4-court prayer, and it miraculously went in. Unfortunately, it was determined that George did not get the attempt up in time, sending the game to overtime.

It is eerily similar to Saturday’s ending to a game between the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers where star center Joel Embiid drained a 3/4-court shot after the buzzer.

The NBA world picked up on the similarities and couldn’t believe that this happened again on Sunday.

Unfortunately for the Clippers, George narrowly missing the buzzer ultimately came back to bite them. The Nuggets would go on to win 134-124 over Los Angeles in overtime.
