Tuesday night saw the Los Angeles Lakers get eliminated from playoff contention after their loss to the Phoenix Suns.
It was a disaster of a year for the Lakers, with injury-riddled stars Anthony Davis and LeBron James missing many games down the stretch. Not to mention Russell Westbrook being shaky at best for most of the season.
The Lakers lost seven straight games down the stretch, which saw teams like the San Antonio Spurs and the New Orleans Pelicans move past them in the standings. It is now confirmed that the Spurs and Pelicans will play in the Western Conference play-in tournament starting next week.
New Orleans decided that it was the right time to poke fun at the Lakers and former Pelicans star Anthony Davis following their loss last night.
That's All Folks!

The tweet refers to the “That’s All Folks” shirt that Anthony Davis wore at the end of his final season with the Pelicans, hinting at his departure the following year.

This certainly got the NBA world talking, with many appreciating the dedication of the organization for waiting for the right time to bring up this past moment.

Lakers fans certainly did not take it too well, with many bringing up the 2020 championship that Davis played a big role in winning.

It may be a bit petty, but this is just a hilarious use of social media by the Pelicans’ social team.
The team will now focus on their game against the Spurs in the play-in tournament, with the winner most likely playing the loser of the matchup between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Los Angeles Clippers.
New Orleans has been rejuvenated by the acquisition of CJ McCollum at the trade deadline, and they can certainly make for a tough out if they do end up making it into the playoffs.
