Robin Lopez Game 5

Props to Robin Lopez for morphing into a beast during the first round series between the Bulls and the Celtics, especially for the games in Boston. The Bulls center continued his hot streak during Game 5 on Wednesday, with 14 points on 6-for-7 shooting.

However, that lone miss was absolutely brutal:

Was there some contact from behind with Celtics wing Jae Crowder? Maybe. But not much.

That’s just a big ol’ whiff by Lopez. And missing open looks in the lane while trying to gain an edge in a 2-2 series (especially in a road playoff game) stings. At the time, the Bulls trailed 59-56 with nine minutes left in the third quarter.

But still, Lopez is overall having a great Game 5. Without Lopez, Chicago might not still have a shot in this series to knock off the top-seeded Celtics.

Despite that ugly miss, he still has almost as many makes as Isaiah Canaan ass slaps.

As the Celtics pulled away in the fourth quarter, Lopez also received a (understandable) technical foul as the ref didn’t call an obvious foul on Crowder using a leg lock on the Bulls 7-footer.

The Bulls lost their cool late, with Dwyane Wade picking up a T as well. They head back to Chicago down 3-2, and this series looks a lot more like we expected it to look before the Bulls won the first two games.
