The Phoenix Suns are likely going to have an extremely busy offseason. The Suns missed the playoffs this season, finishing 11th in the Western Conference, which placed them just outside of the play-in tournament.

The expected overhaul to the Suns’ construction has already begun, with the firing of head coach Mike Budenholzer being announced on Monday. It sounds as if more change is just around the corner in Phoenix.

There were reports that the only player on the Suns’ roster considered untouchable is shooting guard Devin Booker. This was shocking,g considering that former league MVP Kevin Durant is also on the Suns’ roster, not to mention elite scorer Bradley Beal.

However, it seems as if the reports have been substantiated, and Phoenix feels that Durant’s services are no longer conducive to winning a championship, per one prominent league insider.

“Suns (fired) coach Mike Budenholzer after a failed season with the highest payroll in NBA history – beginning a summer of major changes that will include working with Kevin Durant and his business partner Rich Kleiman on a trade,” reported ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Fnas reacted to the news on social media.

“Suns need to blow it up now. Trade your stars for this years current picks and next. I’d trade Booker for the first round pick of this draft. I would talk to the spurs and get their 8th pick and one of those young players. Beal get a low first. This is a deep draft to do it,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“I always thought they should have kept Frank Vogel. I thought it was impressive that he had the team playing defense. It was dumb to fire him,” someone else wrote.

“The Suns just reduced their KD trade leverage with this announcement,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see where Durant lands.
