Taco Bell is at it once again in trying to give away free food during a major sporting event. This time it is the NBA Finals that will have you rooting for a win by the road team.

Taco Bell’s new “Steal a Game, Steal a Taco” promotion is going to give fans of basketball, tacos, and free food, a free Doritos Locos taco if a road team wins any of the games of the NBA Finals. The free tacos will be given away on June 15 if a road team wins any of the first three games. If the road team wins one of the final four games of the seven-game series, the free tacos will be given away on June 21.

Home-court advantage has played a significant role in the NBA’s conference championship series so far, with just one road team (Oklahoma City Thunder) managing to grab a win away from home so far. That makes the Taco Bell promo in the finals all the more interesting.

Last fall, Taco Bell gave away free breakfast wraps after a base was stolen in the World Series. We can all thank Lorenzo Cain of the Kansas City Royals for that. A stolen base in the World Series is one thing. A road team winning in the NBA Finals is probably a bit more of a challenge.
