If you’ve attended an average amount of sporting events, you’ve likely seen the typical three-person dance contest, whose winner is decided by a fan cheering vote.

For me, this is usually a good reason to go get another beer. This dance contest, sadly, is actually worth watching.

During a break in Sunday’s Milwaukee Bucks-Washington Wizards game, three children were given the opportunity to dance for a gift card. The contest was really over after the first kid’s attempt. If you watch the video, you’ll see what I mean:

How sad does this kid look? Very. But why? Is it because the dab is on its way out? Is it because “Hit the Quan” was so late-2015? Or was it that the kid realized he didn’t have any other dance moves?

While we don’t know the exact reason for this kid’s sadness, I still would’ve voted for him to win. He might need some free dinner to dry up his tears.
