On Wednesday night, SB Nation tweeted an imagine of Knicks president Phil Jackson sitting awkwardly in a New York bus, scrunched up and twisted to the side as if he was trying to make himself look small.
The photo, which comes from Instagram user Lou_Minoti, leaves many questions. We don’t know why Jackson was riding the Subway, why he was sitting like that or why he owns those shoes. We don’t know whether that woman smells bad or whether that man smells good or whether Jackson’s worst enemy is sitting behind him. All we have is the photo:
Phil Jackson doesn’t look comfortable at all.

The photo is hilarious in many different ways, and it quickly became a meme, with fans joking about Phil’s uneasy relationship with Carmelo Anthony, the Knicks’ feud with Charles Oakley and the overall sad state of the franchise Jackson runs.

You kind of feel bad for Phil, one of the best coaches in NBA history, for becoming a punchline, but he kind of asked for this when he had the temerity to think he could turn around the Knicks.
Still, you hate to see once-proud man lose his dignity. Keep you chin up, Phil. And maybe sit straight while you’re at it.
