Allen Iverson and Tyronn Lue’s relationship is most memorable from the now-infamous clip of A.I. stepping over the Cleveland Cavaliers head coach during his time with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The clip is one of the finest examples of swagger in NBA history.

Despite the perceived beef, Lue has nothing but love for Iverson. Lue told TMZ Iverson his brother and said his Hall of Fame induction was well-deserved.

“I love him like a brother. I’m glad he got inducted to the Hall of Fame. Well deserved. One of the best players of all-time in the NBA.”

Iverson gave Lue a shoutout during his Hall of Fame speech telling a funny story about Lue thanking Iverson for helping him land a $5 million per season contract. Iverson also admitted during the speech of aspirations to become an NBA coach. When TMZ asked if he thought Iverson would be a good coach, Lue responded:

“He could come coach with me.”

It would be interesting to see Iverson and Lue side-by-side working together given their history, but with the incident behind them and a friendship formed I’d love to see it come to fruition. Iverson is one of the greatest point guards of all-time and would surely bring a wealth of knowledge to the table in Cleveland. Plus, Lue, LeBron, J.R. Smith (potentially), Kevin Love and Iverson all in the same locker room would make for first-class entertainment.

Plus, of course, we’d finally get to see what an AI-coached practice would look like. (Guess: not strenuous, if it exists at all.)

Hopefully, Lue isn’t joking and can help Iverson transition to the next step of his NBA career. The league is better with Iverson in it.
