When you think of the Golden State Warriors dynasty, you think of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Steve Kerr, amongst others.
You might not think of Bob Myers, but he’s been an instrumental executive with the franchise as it’s collected four NBA Titles in the last nine years.
While the Warriors might be due for some changes on the court, it also sounds like they might be losing one of the key cogs in their front office this offseason as well.
The two-time NBA Executive of the Year was hired as assistant general manager in 2011 when Golden State added Klay Thompson to their roster. He was promoted to general manager a year later and would soon make the decision to replace head coach Mark Jackson with Steve Kerr, which ended up having a huge impact on the trajectory of the franchise.
The 48-year-old’s contract expires next month and he told ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski that he plans on taking “a couple of weeks to make a decision about his future.”
“It’s a decision that he says he is torn about, I think large part because of his relationships with the ‘Core 3’ of Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson, and his coach Steve Kerr,” Wojnarowski told Mike Greenberg.
“Four championships under Bob Myers, and an organization where he just carries a tremendous amount of weight and respect. You heard all the key players and their coach talk about how badly they want Bob Myers back. He’s not there yet on a decision.”

It’s a critical time for the Warriors as it’s expected that Green might want to opt out before next season and Thompson is set to become a free agent after the 2023-2024 season.
