Klay Thompson has had a great run with the Golden State Warriors, but his time in the Bay Area is reportedly coming to an end.
The Athletic‘s Shams Charania reported Saturday that Thompson and the Warriors have had “close to no communication” since the negotiating period opened June 18 for pending free agents, and the Warriors have not made an offer.
“The five-time All-Star guard is determined to find a new home elsewhere for his 14th NBA season and beyond, with both sides believing their 13-year run together is over, league sources said,” Charania wrote.
BREAKING: The Golden State Warriors are preparing to lose four-time NBA champion Klay Thompson in free agency, an expected parting of ways between a legendary dynasty and a legacy player, league sources say.

Thompson is 34, but can still pop from outside. He shot 38.7% from three-point range last season, averaging 17.9 points per game. Charania reported the Los Angeles Lakers, LA Clippers and Dallas Mavericks are expected to have interest in the veteran.
Still, it would be strange seeing Thompson leave the team where he played such a key role in the dynasty that won four NBA championships. Fans had plenty of thoughts on one-half of the legendary “Splash Brothers” duo possibly playing elsewhere.

I do hope everyone is cool about this. The splash brothers at their peak was some of the most exciting ball of the last 20 years. https://t.co/lxQrEyFRjR
